Vicente Gallardo Jr.

Vicente Gallardo Jr., loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather was born in Laredo, TX on April 1, 1933. He passed from this life on April 12, 2021, at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Ernestine P. and his parents Antonia M and Vicente Sr; and brother Roberto. He is survived by his devoted children, Anna Lupita Gallardo Moreno (Adrian), Oscar P. Gallardo (Marisela) and Paul Vincent Gallardo (Sylvia); sisters Antonia (Toni) and Alicia (Licha) Gallardo, grandchildren Gregory Gallardo ( Yessenia), Valerie (Stephen ) Larson, Victoria Moreno, Ashley, and Anthony Gallardo. He will be greatly missed by his loving great-grandchildren Dulce, Lizandro, Esmeralda, Giselle, and Gregory Gallardo; Brinley, Alejandro, Sophia, and Marcus Larson; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. He will also be missed by Jose Valdez who sometimes watched over him at home.

Vicente served honorably in the United States Army and upon his return to San Antonio met and married the love of his life, Ernestine. He worked as a warehouse manager with the S.N LEE company for many years and considered him a valued employee. He eventually started his own wholesale toy company serving mom and pop shops in the West and SW neighborhoods of San Antonio. He and Ernestine loved their “business” trips to Las Vegas at least twice a year. He enjoyed stamp collecting and spending his time keeping inventory and even “selling” toys to his grandkids. As his health declined, he enjoyed a car ride just about anywhere. “Let's go dad”, would put a gleam in his eyes any time or day.
