Roger Conn Borchers

Roger Conn Borchers, age 79, went home to the Lord on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Roger was born August 27, 1941 to Werner and Katherine Borchers in San Antonio, Texas. Roger attended Central Catholic High School in San Antonio and San Antonio College. He was in both the Army and Navy. He worked for Southwestern Bell which later become AT&T for 38 years as a Yellow-Page Salesman. He never missed a day of work in those 38 years.

Roger married Awilda Borchers on August 30, 1968. He and his wife, Awilda, were married for 52 years. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Katherine Borchers and his daughter Candace Janelle Borchers-Schulz. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Awilda, children Robert Borchers, Teresa Simon and Daughter Celeste Valenzuela, and husband David, and Candace’s husband until her death Bucky Schulz, 6 grandchildren, Sherese, Alexis and Josh (Robert) Johnny and Chelsea (Teresa) and Pheona (Celeste and David), five great grand-children; brother-in -law Mickey Helms, and his nephews Mic Helms (Elizabeth) and Matthew Helms (Maria) .

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, 3520 S. Flores, San Antonio, Texas from 1 o’clock in the afternoon until 4:00 PM. A funeral service, officiated by Bucky Schulz, will be celebrated at the graveside on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2pm at Pipe Creek Cemetery in Pipe Creek Texas. He will be buried next to his daughter.
