After a courageous battle with cancer, our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend is celebrating his coming with our Lord Jesus Christ. Merardo P. Garcia Jr., 55 years old entered an eternity with the heavenly Father on June 21, 2017. He is survived by his wife Carol Garcia, son Bryan Garcia, daughter Jennifer Cooper and granddaughter Nichole Solis. Parents Merardo Sr. and Margaret Garcia, two sisters Norma Day (Buck Davis), Kimberly Browning (Rueben Browning), niece Luna Browning and nephews Chris Day and River Browning. He is preceded in his homecoming by his son, Steven Santos Garcia. Also preceded by his Grandparents: Maternal Santos and Consuelo Primera; Paternal Ynes and Manuela Garcia. He remains wonderfully loved and treasured by his family and friends.
Known as "Merv" or Jr. by friends and family. He was a diligent worker, and honorably served the Federal government as a civil for 30 years in the U.S. Post Office. He was passionate about Tejano music, played the saxophone since the age of 15, and realized a lifetime dream of recording a Tejano album. Merardo was a loyal San Antonio Spurs fan, and was gifted in the arts, producing beautiful works in calligraphy and glass mosaic. His most beautiful works of art, of course, were his family and children, whom he loved dearly.
