Maureen Catherine Murphy Curcio Grabowski

January 31, 1929 — August 29, 2017

Maureen Catherine (Murphy) Curcio Grabowski (88), passed away peacefully after years of suffering with Advanced Alzheimer’s blessed with strong will to not only live, but to survive all hardship. She possessed a beautiful heart and Soul, and became deeply loved by all who came to know her. A life-long resident of Morris County, New Jersey, she was the daughter of William F. Murphy, Sr. of Morris Plains, New Jersey and Catherine (Kitty) Costello, of County Cork, Ireland. The youngest of four children, her mother, Kitty died when Maureen was four following the hardship of the Great Depression, she and her siblings never knew a permanent home until she was taken into the loving care of John and Janice O’Neill of Morris Plains, New Jersey who loved and raised her as one of their own. It was their support, love and security that formed the strength and Faith of the woman she became. It is not blood that makes a family, it is love. In October 2013, she came to Texas to stay with her only daughter during her illness, and at 11:45 p.m. on August 29, 2017, she was welcomed into the Universal Energy preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Louis Curcio, her first husband, (first and only enduring love and father of her only children), Louis Anthony Curcio, and that of her sister, Alice (Murphy) Simonelli; brothers: William F. Murphy, Jr; Thomas Murphy and John O’Neill. It was with great Faith and comfort to know that their loving Energy welcomed her home to them as she transitioned to Eternity. She is survived by her daughter, Mia Maureen (Curcio) Johnson, Grandsons: Joshua Johnson and Jordan Johnson; her great-grandchildren: Brianna Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; Alexis Johnson and Aiden Johnson, of Ashdown, Arkansas. She is also survived by her youngest sister, Janice (O’Neill) Pawlowski, Morris Plains, New Jersey. At her death, she was the widow of John W. Grabowski, Sr., may he rest in Peace and his Eternal Energy be forgiven the sins, avarice and greed of his children, John W. Grabowski, Jr., Melanie (Grabowski) Steinberg, and Keith Grabowski, all of Somerset County, New Jersey. It is also with great Faith, comfort and eternal bitterness to know that the pain, loss and hardship they gave her in her final years will be the Energy they take with them into their Eternity and the Eternity of all their descendants. Thus, is the way of the Sidhe. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Maureen’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Organization.
