Mary Theresa Henriquez

February 1, 1931 — January 10, 2022

Mary Theresa Henriquez, 90 years young was called home on January 10, 2022. Mary was born to Victor and Ana Fisher in the US Naval Hospital in Colon, Panama in February 1931. She spent most of her childhood in Costa Rica and Panama. As a young lady she moved to New York City to study. Her sister Anne reintroduced her to Mario Henriquez, whom the family knew from Panama. She would always carry a torch for him. They were separated by circumstances, but ten years later God brought them back together. They married and raised four sons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mario, brother Victor, and two brothers-in-law Bill Roxbury and Robert Lawson.

Mary had a zest for life and playfulness that was obvious to all those around her. Even when aphasia robbed her of the ability to fully express herself, you could see by the shrug of her shoulders and the twinkle in her eyes that something amused her, even if she was laughing at herself.

She missed Mario deeply and longed for heaven with such a passion that those who knew her will miss her but can only be happy for her. She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Joseph & Nancy, John & Peggy, Victor & Mueni, Michael & Catherine, her sisters Rita, Anne, and Veronica, her brother-in-law Stanley, sister-in-law Rosalie, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.

Mary had a devout love of Christ and was a long-time member of the Legion of Mary, America Needs Fatima, St Vincent De Paul Society at St John Neuman in San Antonio, Texas, a Sodalist and member of the St. Michael the Archangel Sodality in Silver Spring MD, and a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites in San Antonio, Texas.
