Margarita Irene Sanchez

March 12, 1962 — January 2, 2018

Margarita Irene Sanchez went in peace to be with the Lord on January 2, 2018.
Born March 12, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas, Margarita, known as Margie to those she loved, became known as one of the most caring, most generous and strongest people anyone knew. While she was loved for countless reasons by so many, it is her selfless, loving nature and strong will that impacted us all. Her passion for art, creativity, and amazing food is out of this world, and that was her gift to so many of us. From Christmas and lawn ornaments to crosses made of metal or wood, to her tamales (hundreds of thousands!) she's made over the years, she gave us so many things to remember her by. Her greatest joy and blessing in life was being a mother and grandmother.
Margarita leaves behind to cherish her memory: her soulmate and husband Eloy Gamboa; her four children Adrian (Teresa) Sanchez, Elizabeth (Blas) Navarro, Angela Sanchez, and James (Mariah) Ramsey; her stepchildren Norma (Michael) Stephens and Juan Sanchez; her grandchildren, Nathan, Ava, Jessalyn, Adrian M., Sadie, Naya, Serena, Bridgette, Ariel, Gianna, Jeremiah, Evie, and Dylan; her siblings Louis (Terri) Hernandez, Armando (Susie) Hernandez, Nora (Farid) Putrus, Sandra (Robert) Castro, Yolanda Sanchez, Anna (Ray) Kennealy; and half siblings Dean (Mona) Sanchez, and Leo (Joann) Sanchez.
Margarita is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Matilde H. Sanchez and, her sister Maria T. Rodriguez and half brother Jesse Sanchez.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Margarita influenced and touched are invited to celebrate the memory of her life at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church 4401 S. Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78214 on Tuesday, January 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
Flowers can be sent to Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels, 3520 S. Flores San Antonio, Tx. 78204
