Laurie D.R. Blazejewski

April 1, 1957 — March 26, 2019

Laurie DR (O’Hara) Blazejewski of San Antonio Texas has completed her life’s journey which culminated with her rising to heaven into the arms or her heavenly father on March 26th 2019. The last three years as she struggled with the frailty of her body which, with the loving help and daily care by her daughter Jessica; remained strong and determined to continue to live life as normally as possible and enjoy her loving animals, family and friends. Laurie was born in Lackawanna, New York to Kenneth O’Hara and Eva Marie Dingelday, in the spring of 1957. Laurie resided with her foster mother Dorothy Schwartz and family of North Tonawanda for a number of years in the late 70’s. Laurie previously resided in Buffalo and Niagara Falls before moving to San Antonio Texas in 2007. Laurie graduated from Niagara Wheatfield Senior High and went on to graduate with several degrees from Niagara County Community College and the University of Buffalo. Laurie’s hard work with her studies had her listed on the dean’s list a number of times over her college years. Her life travels included the states of Florida and South Dakota as vacation destinations with taking her children to Florida to visit with her extended step family. Laurie met her ex-husband William (Bill) in 1975, and spent 29 years together raising 4 children throughout the marriage. The pride of Laurie’s life was always her four loving children; William Jr., David, Jessica and Ryan. With her nurturing, guidance and Love she saw them grow into their own individual personalities as adults, and she was very proud of each one. Near or far they were always on her mind and in her thoughts. Laurie will be truly missed and remembered each day by her loving children and the many friends she met in her travels through life. Along with her parents Laurie was predeceased by her brother Charles “Chucky” O’Hara, step brothers Leroy Colts and Craig Colts. Along with her children and ex-husband, Laurie is survived by her foster mother Dorothy Schwartz and extended family in Florida, and her sister Cheryl (Colts) Thomas and family in New York. A Private Cremation has taken place as she wished and a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the special friends that were able to help Laurie over her recent struggles the last few years. It allowed her to remain strong until her untimely passing. Donations in her name can be made to the Heart Association or an Animal Care Foundation of one’s choosing.
