Judith L. Wendt

October 28, 1938 — August 29, 2020

Judith Lora Robertson Butler Wendt of San Antonio, Texas, previously of LaHarpe, IL, passed away on August 29, 2020. Judy was born on October 28, 1938 to John W. and Suzanne A. McEwen Robertson II in Chicago, IL. She met the love of her life, L. Dean Butler in Puerto Rico, where they both were living, and they married three months later. He proceeded her in death in 1987. The couple spent the early years of their marriage overseas living in Singapore, Venezuela and Puerto Rico, before finally settling in LaHarpe, IL.

Their son L. Dean Butler II passed away in 2017. Judy is survived by her daughters, Lora Butler, Amy (Ted) Begley and daughter-in-law Cassandra Butler. Two grandsons Cullen Begley and Nolan (Angelica) Begley and soon to be born great granddaughter Caleigh Rose Begley. Three step-grandchildren, Alex, Danielle and Nicolas and two step-great grandchildren Jaden and Rosalyn.

Judy was a voracious reader and cross word puzzler. She had a true passion for tropical fish and always had a tank full of these beauties where ever she lived. She also loved dogs and had many throughout her life. Three of which were named Fred. Later in life she became an avid stamp collector following in the footsteps of her mother. She made many new friends through this hobby, especially "Bob" who lived "across the pond." They emailed each other every day for nearly 15 years until her death.

Judy's daughters are truly grateful that she was able to live her life on her own terms until the very end.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in her memory to Mission Road Developmental Center in San Antonio Texas, should one desire.
