Joyce Elaine Mekonen

Joyce Elaine"Dill" Mekonen was born in Kingston,Jamaica on January 23, 1932 to George Barton and Iris Saunders. She was known to most as Dill. She then moved to London, England for studies where she met her husband Kenneth Mekonen, the two were married for 57 years. Dill was a devout lifelong Catholic and worked as a Professional Secretary for most of her life. She volunteered at Truman Medical hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and was later appointed a member of the Board where she served for over 10 years.

Dill is preceded by her children Kathleen and Peter, she is survived by her husband Kenneth, her children Jacqueline, John, Pamela, Kenneth, David, Iris; her grandchildren Michael, Francesca, Frank, Andrew, Jason, John, Joshua, Isiah, Justine, Joanne, Jon, David, Kenya, Mabel; her great grandchildren, daughter in law Russann Mekonen and was cared for by daughter in law Elsa Mekonen and Elsa's sister Alicia.

Dill never had an ill word to speak about anyone. She was loved by everyone that met her. She loved her family and first and foremost God.
