Obituary for James "Wes" Doyle
James Wesley Doyle went to be with our Lord on November 28, 2018. Wes was born on January 31, 1962, in San Diego, California, and was preceded in death by his father, William. He is survived by his wife, Dora, their beloved daughter Abigail; daughters Courtney and Heather, step-daughter Cristina, grandson Daniel James, brothers Tim and Michael, and his mother Sharon.
Wes served in the United States Marine Corps, 3rd Marine Air Wing, from 1980-1984. He was honorably discharged with having earned the rank of corporal. In July 1986, he entered on duty with the United States Border Patrol and graduated from the U.S. Border Patrol Academy with the 198th session. Throughout his 25-year federal law enforcement career, he was assigned to San Diego, California, Del Rio and Marfa, Texas. Some of his assignments included the Del Rio Sector React Team, oversight of the San Diego Sector Indoor Range as a primary firearms instructor, and supervisor of the San Diego Sector Horse Patrol from 2004 – 2006. He was the Asset Forfeiture / Prosecutions supervisor in Marfa Sector and retired as a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent in Comstock, Texas in 2011, with 29 years of government service.
Wes enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog Roy. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Del Rio, Texas. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
