Jack Weatherford enjoyed life to the fullest. The great joys of his life included being a husband, father and grandfather. He was the president of Texas-Vermont Transport, Inc. aka Alamo Transportation. His life was full of deer and dove hunting, offshore fishing, bayfishing, and fishing in the landcut near Port Mansfield with his forever buddies, playing cards, winning trophies at water skiing and going to Vegas. He liked to stay at the Lady Luck. Jack liked to support local businesses, particularly the Hiccup.

Jack always spoke fondly of his years in the Army from August 1950 to September 1953. He said it was an experience of a lifetime going to so many countries and seeing the world with such excitement and hanging out with his Army buddies. He had a special place in his heart for France.

He loved to have all the family and friends over for a big barbecue - which usually included a fair amount of beer. Jack felt it was his obligation to keep the Lone Star Brewery in business. He helped to prepare and serve fresh barbecue and fixings at the RAMS meetings in Comanche Park for many years.

Jack was always glad to help any friend or relative in need – whether it was a home-improvement project or just a "temporary" loan.

Christmas was always special at Jack and Elaine's house. Everyone was welcome. He loved to tease his kids and grandkids with his clever saying: You know what I like about you? Not a goddamn thing! Of course we always knew this wasn't true.
