Heather E. Ballista

Heather Erin Ballista went home to her Lord on February 18, 2019 after an arduous 20-month battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Heather was a loving wife and incredible mother, who’s life evolved around her family. They were her everything, and she spent much of her time searching for and planning fun, wholesome family activities they could all participate in together. Her creativity knew no bounds; and whether it was Halloween, Valentine’s Day, or Christmas, Heather would outdo herself designing Valentine cards, decorating the house for holidays or ensuring her family all dressed in the most ingenious costumes for trick or treating. She was amazing.

Her frequent online updates about her battle with cancer were at once brutal and moving, scary but encouraging, painful yet hopeful ... and they were followed by hundreds of supporters from across the US and in other countries, many of whom she didn’t even know. She inspired everyone with her strength, her courage, her will to live; and through it all, her faith, her church and her love of God helped sustain her. If she had to leave us, how fitting it is that she is now among the angels and with her Lord God in Heaven.

Heather is survived by Joseph, her loving husband of 10 years; son: Austin, daughter: Lizzy, mother: Erin, father: Greg, mom: Laurie, sisters: Kylie, Jessi, Alyson, Kelly and Dixie, brother: Chad, and in-laws: Bobby and Lynda. She will be greatly missed by numerous other family members and friends.
