Gwendolyn Curry

November 10, 1961 — November 14, 2020

Gwendolyn H. Curry was the type of person who would give their only jacket to someone in need. She had a passion for helping others through tough times and had a radiant smile that brightened anyone’s day. She had a love affair with reading, watching “Law and Order”, listening to the latest music on the radio, wine, and chips and cheese. She will be missed by all.

Gwendolyn was born in Minnesota on November 10, 1961 and passed November 14, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Gwendolyn is survived by her daughter Alyssa McCann, son Andrew Curry, and brother Greg Hammond. She is preceded in her death by her daughter Ashley McCann.

After high school she attended Arizona State University and then joined the United States Navy from 1984 to 1997. She served both at sea and shore as an Aerographers Mate Petty Officer First Class. She often mentioned to loved ones that the Navy consisted of some of her most fond memories. Upon exiting the Navy, she moved to Mississippi, Florida, and then Texas. Her favorite job outside of the Navy was the Scooter Store in New Braunfels, Texas where she was able to help others obtain mobility in their daily lives.
