Guillermina Maria Cortez

Guillermina Cortez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico on April 9, 1948, and passed away at the age of 73 on October 1, 2021. Guillermina was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who loved to work on crossword puzzles, knit for her grandkids and spend her Sundays attending mass and shopping with her dear friend of 30 plus years, Bertha Garcia.

She is preceded in death by her husband Hector Cortez, sister Teresa Chavira Flores and her parents Humberto Chavira Trejo and Elena Flores Gutiérrez.

Guillermina is survived by her five children; Hector Cortez Jr. and wife Maryann, Humberto Cortez, Carlos Hugo Cortez, Marco Cortez and wife April, Minerva Cortez and husband Andrew, grandchildren; Hector, Luis, Irene, Humberto Jr., Jasmine, Chastity, Xavier, Jayden, Marco Jr. (Gordo), Alexis, Haley, Maribel, Andrew, and Isaiah; and siblings, Graciela, Maricela, Humberto and Javier.

Guillermina was a woman with a big heart and is also survived by Melissa, Priscilla, Ashley, April and Ralphy whom she was like a second mother to.


She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
