Gary Carrasco Mendoza

March 6, 1958 — September 28, 2022

Gary Carrasco Mendoza, age 64, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2022.  He was born to Alex and Herminia Mendoza in San Antonio, Texas on March 6, 1958.  


Gary served his country as Army solider on active duty, then in the Army National Guard, and finally as a Navy Reservist.  A true Patriot, Gary was proud of his country and military service.  Those of you who know Gary, you know he was not going to just settling down, so Gary worked and retired from Texas Department of Transportation (TX DOT).  After retiring from TX DOT, Gary went on to work in the private sector at Raba-Kistner and then Terracon Consultants, Inc.  Although, he worked everyday, he always found time to be a devoted family man.  Gary was happiest being with his wife and daughter.  


For many years Gary volunteered at the Heide Search Center trying his best to bring comfort and closure to those with missing loved ones.  He never made an enemy and was loved by so many people.    


Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Herminia Mendoza.  He is survived by his wife, Nannette Mendoza, daughter, Jillian Mendoza, brothers, Robert Mendoza (Linda), Edward Mendoza, and David Mendoza.  Nieces, Porsha Mendoza, and Elisa Barker (Chris).  Nephews, David John Mendoza, Edward Mendoza Jr., and Zach Wiita (Sarah).
