Frank G. Ontiveros Jr.

Only 3 months after his wife left this world for the next, Frank G. Ontiveros joined her in Heaven on October 9, 2018. They were married 62 years and had four children. Frank is survived by his children: Frank A. Ontiveros III (Ana Ontiveros- wife), John A. Ontiveros, Linda A. Roohan, Sandra M. Schiller (Darren Schiller- husband).
Frank turned 84 years old last month and died peacefully surrounded by all four children, grandchildren and friends. Frank is survived by his grandchildren: Monica Ontiveros, Craig Roohan, Matthew Roohan, Kathryn Roohan, Christopher Roohan, Joseph Jemeyson, Owen Damron. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandson, Thurston James Roohan.
Frank proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until he retired in 1975. He met his wife, Mary, while in basic training in San Antonio. He had two tours in Germany, and was stationed in Morocco in addition to Texas and California. He chose to retire in San Antonio to be close to Mary’s family. Although Frank was proud to serve in the Air Force, he was even more proud that his son, Frank, retired from the Navy, and his son, John, retired from the Air Force.
Frank was passionate about sports, and frequently attended games for all of his grandchildren. He also loved cars and took pride in detailing them to make them shine. He dreamed of owning a Camaro one day and renewing his license, so that he could legally drive it around town. Likely, he would have driven first to see each of his grandchildren with a big smile on his face. He was known for being kind, compassionate, and developing relationships, especially with the spouses and extended family of those his children married. He did so by making people feel as though they were part of the family.
Those close to him may take comfort in picturing Frank driving his shiny Camaro, with a license which never expires, down the streets of Heaven for all eternity.
