The song has ended but the melody lingers on…………….

Our beautiful and beloved Mother, Grandmother and family matriarch passed away at her family home in San Antonio, Texas. She was received into the Lords embrace, surrounded by her children. She was 89 years young.

Left to cherish their memories are her children Rocco Camarillo, Patricia “Patsy” Camarillo, Maria “Cooky” Mendoza and spouse Patrick Mendoza. Her grandchildren, whom she referred to as the “jewels on her family crown”, are Jackie Mendoza, Patrick Mendoza Jr., Caesar Mendoza and Lauren Mendoza. She is survived by her sisters Graciela Reyna (Gilbert+), Diamantina Esquivel (Jose+) and her brother Jose Maria Garza (Guadalupe), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Felicitas was pre- deceased by her parents Librado and Maria Del Refugio Garza; her brothers, Ramiro Garza Sr. (Graciela+) and Audaz Garza (Yolanda+) and ex-spouse Ignacio Camarillo Sr.,
all residents of Del Rio, Texas

Felicitas was the epitome of grace and elegance. She loved fashion and would often tailor her own clothes for special occasions. She received honors in her past employments for her professional achievements. In 1994, she was honored by the Gordon’s Jewelry Corporation as National Manager of the Year and inducted into the National Who’s Who of Women in Business. She was a mentor to many.

Some of her favorite things were gardening and traveling. She enjoyed trips to Europe with her son Rocco and to Hawaii with her daughter Patsy. She travelled locally with her daughter Cooky and Patrick and enjoyed family trips to Disneyland with her grandchildren. She loved watching soccer games and enjoyed engaging in political debate regarding current events. As a devout Catholic, she would end her day by praying the rosary and with special prayer intentions for friends and family.

Felicitas will be remembered for her tenacity in everything she did. She was a cancer survivor and never shied away from advocating for herself with her medical care. She supported her children in everything they did and beamed proudly in her role as Grandma.

Her grandchildren recall that she was always instilling in them the will to do their best. She often welcomed her grandchildren and friends into her home with a listening ear and grandmotherly advice; often served with a sweet treat. “Good, better, best. Never let it Rest. Until the Good is Better and the Better Best!”

She leaves a legacy that will endure thru the ages…She was our Mom, our GaNa, our Momsipa.

Reading from the Book of Solomon

Arise, make hast, my love, my dove
My beautiful one and come

Arise, my love
Arise, My love
The grave no longer
Has a hold on you
No more death’s sting
No more suffering
For winter is now past,
The rain is over and now gone.

Arise my love,
To once again be with those loved ones long gone before you
To be the guardian of those loved ones left behind
Arise… Arise... Arise my love

Felicitas will be cremated and due to Covid-19 a memorial service will be held at a later date.
