Estella Martinez Huary

Estella Martinez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2018, at the age of 66. Born on March 24, 1952, she was the youngest of five children. A native of San Antonio, she was an active member of St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a tireless and selfless volunteer at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. Estella took great pride in her work at St. Philip’s College, retiring after 19 years of dedicated service.

Throughout her 66 years, Estella cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed many hobbies including fishing on the coast, casino bus trips with her sisters, and never missed a family celebration. She also loved to dance. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, warm hugs and big, beautiful smile. Her commitment to the Lord and devotion to her son will be her legacy. Estella will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonia and Ricardo Martinez, and Brother, Ricardo Jr. Estella is survived by her only son, Danny Martinez, her grandchildren Danny Jr., James & Anthony Martinez. Great-Granddaughter, Faith Martinez, One brother and three sisters: Willie and wife, Janie Martinez, Mary Salazar, Olga and husband, Gilbert Benavides, Otilia and husband, John Leura; 16 nieces and nephews.
