Edith MacNeill Obituary – 9/18/16
Long known for her kind heart and her ability to connect with everyone, Edith Dorothea MacNeill age 80 passed away at her home in her sleep in San Antonio Texas. Born on March 1, 1936 in Quincy Massachusetts to Harold Sherman and Emily Dorothea MacNeill, she lived in Nova Scotia, Panama, California, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and settled in San Antonio, Texas.

Her early career was spent in photography in Costa Rica with her former husband Otto Fonseca. They ran the first color photography lab in the country. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, crafting, playing cards and board games, and get-away trips to the hill country. She loved to travel and was the first to say, "Yes, I'll go". She was an administrative assistant in Framingham Massachusetts and San Antonio Texas at La Mansion and the Nix Medical Center.

She was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage and loved all things Scotch. In the Hebrides on the northern coast of Scotland there is the Isle of Barra which was the point of origin of the clan MacNeill.

She is survived by her brother Arthur S. MacNeill and his wife Bunny and their children. She was preceded in death by her brother David S. MacNeill and survived by his children. She is also survived by her son Roy S. Fonseca and his children and grandchildren and her daughter Edee B. Fonseca and her children and nieces and nephews. She had a special place in her heart for her dog Bandit.
Her loyalty and empathy were traits which drew people to her and made the world a better place.
