E.A. Rick Hamilton

November 13, 1928 — September 5, 2011

TSGT E. A. “Rick” Hamilton, Jr., USAF – Retired, went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2011 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Nancy L. Hamilton; son: Larry M. Hamilton; sister: Barbara Nolen; brother: Eddie Hamilton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rick dedicated more than 20 years of his life in the USAF in which he served a courageous tour in Vietnam. He was instrumental in building a “city” within Vietnam that allowed easy access for US troops and supplies to enter/exit safely. His military career took him many places, his favorite being Germany and Alaska. He retired in 1969 and took employment with Dr. Pepper Bottling Company in Dallas, TX, but moved to San Antonio on his birthday, November 13, 1978 where he lived until his passing. In 1982, he became a member of Cornerstone Church where he served as an Usher. One of his favorite pass times was Square Dancing, which is where he met such wonderful life long friends. Mrs. Hamilton wishes to express her thanks to the many friends for their care, love and support. In addition, a special thanks to Vitas Hospice (Fredericksburg Rd.) for all their hard work

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery At 10:45 AM
