Born in San Antonio, Texas, on May 7, 1952. Graduated from Burbank High School in 1970. He was a self-taught drummer and played with his first band at the age of 15 years old with "The Epics" and with "The Latin Tones" 1967-1968. He then joined "Joe Jama and La Fuerza" in 1977. Then in 1980, he played with Ada Garcia of Lamar Band. Then with "El Quinto Sol" in 1982 and several other bands during his musical career.

He was a full time musician for over 30 years. His passion was drums and jazz music and different genres of music. He was heavily influenced by Steve Gadd, Arturo Sandoval and many other great artists. He also loved Randolph Scott and John Wayne movies.

In the 1990's, his life was changed forever when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He shared the love of Jesus with everyone. In 1995, he married his wife, Roxanna Garcia and began a new chapter in his life as a praise and worship musician. God anointed him mightily and prophetically as he lent himself to the working of the Holy Spirit. He loved the outdoors, planting flowers and plants of all kinds. Enjoyed working in landscaping and loved bird watching.

Cris had a great love for his parents, and his sisters and all of his nieces and nephews. His greatest hope was that his family would have a personal relationship with and love for Jesus Christ. He was loved by so many, and will be greatly missed.
