Belia P. Serna

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Belia Perez Serna. We are saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, April 30th. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Belia dedicated her life to caring for her family and to her career in Education. Belia spent 46 years teaching and working with children in various areas of the public school system. Her career began in Laredo, Tx, and expanded to Del Rio, Tx, and San Antonio, Tx where she retired in 2004. Belia lived a full life and enjoyed the times her family was together and watching her grandchildren grow up. Belia is preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Aurelia Perez; husband, Pablo Serna Jr.; daughter Alma Leticia Serna; brother Santiago Perez; step-son Victor P. Serna, sister Rosalia Torres and her husband Pedro. She is survived by her sons Juan G. Serna, and Jose Alberto Serna (Anna); daughters, Ana Laura Duran (Tommy), step-daughter Martha Gomez; brothers Cayetano Perez (Noemi), and Julio Perez Jr. (Alicia); sister Rebecca Villarreal (Miguel); 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Heart Association.
