Alicia M. Alvarado

July 27, 1926 — November 1, 2017

A life's journey of 91 yrs that began in Del Rio, TX, on July 27, 1926, to Fermin Lopez Montejano and Asuncion Rodriguez Montejano. Their second child born, Alicia Montejano, a dedicated Prayer Warrior and daily Divine Mercy Chaplet follower for the last 16 yrs on EWTN.
Served her country as a Federal Civil Servant, aircraft component inspection & repair mechanic during WW II. Our mother was employed at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, TX in 1944, when she met our dad who was stationed there and they married on Dec 29, 1945. She then resigned in 1946. They moved to San Antonio, since our dad was born here and was working at Kelly AFB when WW II broke out. Our father was reinstated at Kelly and our mother reapplied and was rehired. She resigned in 1952 when our youngest sister was born and became a full time homemaker.
In the early 1960s Mom worked as an Election Clerk, Alternate Precinct Judge and Precinct Judge for all Local, State, General and school elections for 28 years. Both our parents traveled to visit family in Los Angeles, visit their children and grand-children in Sacramento CA and Battle Creek MI. And travels in between to Dallas, Mexico City, Monterrey MX, Rosita MX and South TX Rio Grand Valley.
All our family acquaintances have one common thing to say about Mom, that she always wore and expressed her radiant and spiritual beauty as an extension of God's love. She was also dedicated to the Seven Archangels, one for each day of the week in Her daily prayers.
Our beloved Great-grand Mother Alicia, entered the Golden Gates of Heaven on Nov. 1, '17, may you rest in peace for you are in GOD's eternal and merciful hands, with all the Angels, Saints and departed family, Amen.
Our Mother Alicia is preceded in death by our father/husband Pedro G. Alvarado and is survived by her four children: Oscar M. Alvarado (Becky), Sylvia A. Rodriguez (Rudy), Mary Alice A. Hayward (Jon) and Diana A. Belk (Tim). Numerous grand kids and five great-grand children. Three nieces, Cynthia Walters, Mary Angela Maldonado & Rosa Castillo and one nephew, John Maldonado and she has three surviving younger first cousins.
