Margaret Gonzalez, 87, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on September 20, 2017.
Margaret was born in Elsa, Texas to Catarino Castñeda and Francisca Riojas on March 10, 1930. She spent her childhood in Mercedes, Texas and attended Mercedes High School. Margaret spent a short time living in Toledo, Ohio before moving to Chicago, Illinois where she lived for 50 years. She was married to Alexander G. Carrington. Together they had two children, her daughter Diana, and her son Elizandro. Later she was remarried to Jose (Joe) E. Gonzalez and they had a son, Paul David. Margaret worked as a secretary at various office locations. She was also a volunteer for the Catholic Church teaching catechism and helping to organize parish events. She was actively involved in the PTA of her children’s school. After retirement, she and Joe moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to their brothers and sisters.Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Jose E. Gonzalez, her parents Catarino & Francisca Castañeda, her brothers Alfredo, Guadalupe and Pablo Castañeda, her sisters, Romanita Gonzalez, Mela Flores, Elena Garcia, Adela Coronado, and Abelina Brown.She is survived by her daughter, Diana Galicia, and sons Elizandro Carrington and Paul Gonley (Cathy) and grandchildren, Brian, Anthony, Ian and Zurina. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
