Arturo Zapata

April 20, 1933 — March 17, 2018

Arturo Zapata went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Guadalupe Zapata, and Brother Alfredo Zapata. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pearl Garcia Zapata and daughter: Patricia Zapata Puente, sons: Arturo (Meliza) Zapata,Jr., Carlos (Yamileth) Zapata and Xavier Zapata; grandchildren: Arturo III, Carlos,Jr., Charles (Melinda), Eric, Katherine, Stephanie and Yuliana. He is also survived by his step granddaughter Jaclyn Delgadillo and step great grandson Austin Satterfield.
Mr. Zapata served in the US Army during the Korean War and US Army reserves. He retired teaching from La Joya, Texas ISD and was proud member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Helena Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by numerous other family members and friends.
