Angelo Walter Falletta

May 3, 1937 — November 17, 2017

Angelo “Tough Guy” Falletta is survived by his patient wife of 54 years, Kay Falletta. She never left his side in all of those years, including the last month. Angelo has left a detailed “plan” with his three children, Peter Falletta (wife Deborah), Joe Falletta, and Anne Best, outlining just how to precisely take care of Kay until they meet again in heaven. Although it may never measure up to his impeccable ways, his grocery lists, oxygen machine how to’s, laundry detail, and other step-by-step processes will be followed to the best of their ability. Angelo’s grandchildren, Donna Falletta, Lauren Falletta, Adam Falletta, Joseph Falletta, and Hope Best have been blessed to have such a dynamic grandfather pave their pathway of perseverance. They will miss the long walks he took them on when they were young, Saturday lunch hot dogs, and the occasional game of dog piling Papa. When Angelo was asked what advice he would give his grandchildren, he smiled and offered, “Do your part, be nice to everyone.”

Angelo’s brother, Russell Falletta, and sister, Ellen Bigaj reside in Buffalo where they miss him shoveling the snow and watching Buffalo Bills games together. There are countless nieces, nephews, and cousins that are left with sore arms after one of Angelo’s loveable punches or possible permanent bad hair from an unexpected noogie. Kay’s sister Barb and her husband Sonny Wagner always helped and hosted so many family gatherings over the years where more than just memories were made. His message to his family was clear, “We did pretty good. We aren’t perfect, but we did pretty good.”

Angelo is preceded in death by his parents Rosario and Angeline Falletta. Also preceding him were siblings James Dirosa, Antoinette Barba, Salvatore Falletta and Frank Falletta. The Falletta’s in heaven and Sinatra greeted Angelo with an unyielding amount of Italian sausage and peppers.

The late “Big Al” Johnson is currently showing Angelo the ropes in heaven. Angelo has received his grand reward for the fight well fought of eternal life with Jesus.

Angelo received such wonderful care and compassion over the last three weeks during his stay at The ABODE Home. There are no words we can use to describe our experience at The ABODE Home. Their care extended to our entire family and we will be forever indebted to them. Thanks so much to Martha Jo, Suzette, Tiffany, Big John, Adrianna, Jac, Gabby, Glee, Diana, Leanne, and so many other volunteers. And of course there is ABODE’s own four legged friend Sadie. She was there from beginning to end providing her own compassion and love.

On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, visitation will be offered at 4pm with a memorial service following at 6:30pm located at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapel on 14315 Judson Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The ABODE Home. http://abodehome.org/
